Brookline

Brookline was one of the only townships connected to Boston that wasn't absorbed by the larger city in the late 1800s when towns like Brighton, West Roxbury and Dorchester were annexed.  

Originally known as the Muddy River Hamlet, one of Brookline's defining geographic characteristics is the Muddy River that runs as an estuary to the Charles River and marks the Frederick Law Olmstead Emerald Necklace.  

Nationally recognized for having one of the best public school systems in the country, Brookline has 8 K-8 schools and one high school.  It's also home to some of the best Kosher food this side of the Connecticut River.  

One of my favorite places to hang out is Brookline's Coolidge Corner neighborhood, where there are some great shops, ethnic food stores, delicious restauarants, a renowned book store and the best little movie theater in the city.  

With many different areas within the town lines Brookline, the housing stock runs the gamut entirely from 250 sqft brownstone studio condos to 15,000 sqft 15 bedroom mansions.   

Serviced by three subway lines (the Green Line's B, C and D trolleys), its easy access to Boston and Cambridge making it another preferred desination of choice for homebuyers.
