Dorchester is the largest neighborhood in Boston and has more "Squares", "Hills" and "Corners" than anywhere else in the city.  It stretches from South Boston all the way along the coast to Quincy, then around to Milton, Mattapan, Roxbury and Jamaica Plain.  Dorchester was one of the original Massachusetts settlements once spanning from Maine to Rhode Island.  As the years went by, it shrunk and shrunk until Boston finally swallowed it up in the 1870s.  

It has a zoo, a beach, two golf courses, several parks and some incredible BBQ, Soul and Roti Restaurants.  Serviced mainly by the Red Line subway, its also on the right of way for the Franklin Commuter line with stops in Codman Square.  

A litttle known fact about Dorchester is that until as late as 1895, Savin Hill was still home to the Native American Neponset Tribe, making it the last place in Greater Boston with a Native community all its own.  

Dorchester's access to the T and major roadways such as Morrissey Boulevard, Gallivan Boulevard, Route 93, and the Neponset Circle provide a convenience to getting both into and out of the city at a moment's notice.
