East Boston was one of the earlier annexations to Boston where it became part of Boston in the 1830's after another large-scale landfill project, consuming several of Boston's inner harbor islands.  Home to Logan Airport and some of the best city views available in Boston proper.  

With Blue Line subway service to Maverick Square, the Airport, Wood Island, Suffolk Downs and Orient Heights, as well as quick access to the Sumner/Callahan and Ted Williams Tunnels, it has plenty of options for the commuters. 

Picturesque Piers Park (and its ongoing city improvements), Jeffries Point, Shay's Beach and Suffolk Downs are a few of East Boston's most notable sections.  Also, you'll find in East Boston some truly hidden gems in Italian and Latin American restaurants.
